James Hallene, Partner, Capital Concepts Holdings
Mr. Hallene founded Capital Concepts
Holdings, LLC, a Chicago-based
private equity investment firm in
1998 and currently serves as its
principal. He is also a partner with
CapX Partners, an equipment leasing
fund and a licensee of the Small
Business Administration's Small
Business Investment Company Program.
Before Capital Concepts, he
co-founded and later sold the
data-consolidation company, MaxMiles.
For 15 years Mr. Hallene was employed
at American National Bank, a
subsidiary of Bank One Corporation.
He currently sits on several
corporate boards including MB
Financial Corporation, Olsen
Engineering, Unilink Engineering Pvt.
Ltd (India), VSA Partners Holdings,
and Resource Land Holdings. He
earned a bachelor's degree in
Economics from the University of
Illinois (Go Illini!) and a Master's
degree in Business Administration
from Northwestern University's
Kellogg Graduate School of
Management.
Phillip Hewes, Partner, Fitzgerald & Hewes LLP
Mr. Hewes founded Fitzgerald & Hewes
in 2005. Fitzgerald & Hewes LLP are
legal advisors for venture-financing,
multi- media, technology consulting,
telecommunications and other emerging
technology organizations. Prior to
founding Fitzgerald & Hewes, he was
the VP and General Counsel at the
Krone Group. From 1977 to 2001, he
held several positions at Comdisco
Inc., including Chief Legal Officer &
Secretary Deputy General Counsel and
Interim President and CEO. Mr. Hewes
received his Bachelor of Arts in
Social Sciences from Colorado State
University in Ft. Collins. (Go

Doctorate from John Marshall Law
School in Chicago.
Scott Lovett, Vice President, Unified Communications Sales for North America, Cisco Systems
Mr. Lovett has been with Cisco
Systems since 1994. In his current
position, he leads a team of over 350
people with annual revenue
responsibilities in excess of $2
billion. He is focused on aligning
Cisco Unified Communications
solutions with customer's evolving
business requirements. Prior to his
current position, Mr. Lovett was the
Director of Advanced Technology Sales
in the Midwest and Cisco's Directory
of IP Telephony sales for the entire
US enterprise market. Mr. Lovett
received his Bachelor of Arts in
Communications from Eastern Illinois
University in Charleston, IL. (Go

William Markey, President, RelevantC Business Group
Mr. Markey is the Founder and
President of the RelevantC Business
Group (RCBG), an advisory services
firm focused on telecom, media and
technology. Prior to forming RCBG,
he was a co-founder of Ucentric
Systems, a software start up later
acquired by Motorola. At Motorola he
led international business
development for their Multimedia
Group, establishing an international
presence for their broadband and
telephony products. Previous to
this, he led marketing and business
development activity for the
broadband division of 3Com. Mr.
Markey received his Bachelor of Arts
degree from Georgetown University.

and a Master of Arts from John
Hopkins University.
Brett Paulson, President and Chief Executive Officer, ETM Global
Mr. Paulson is the Founder, President
and Chief Executive Officer of ETM
Global, a consulting company that
provides CXO Advisory Services,
Project Management Services and a
wide array of Technology Consulting
Services. He also is the CEO for
Avadhi Finance and Technology, a
trading software company. Prior to
ETM Global, he held the positions of
President, COO and CIO at The
Clearing Corporation (formally the
Board of Trade Clearing Corporation)
from 1995 to 2008. Mr. Paulson has
held senior level technology
positions at CS First Boston,
Continental Bank, IBM, Harris Bank
and International Harvester. Mr.
Paulson received his Bachelor of Arts
